The entry foyer of a home is the first thing people see upon opening the front door. Whether it’s your in-laws, friends, or just the package delivery man, the foyer sets the tone for the design, style, and (many people seem to forget this!) upkeep of the rest of your home.
You want your guests to feel welcome upon first entering your home, and for visitors who don’t make it past the foyer, you want to make a good impression with just a glance through your open door. Your foyer should reflect who lives in your home and really stand as a way to make a statement.
Here are some of my favorite foyers–beautiful entryways to beautiful homes!
The view from the entrance of designer Tina Nyman’s home. The design is very elegant while still giving the feel of a warm, inviting environment.
Another view of Ms. Nyman’s home. From the foyer you can enter the kitchen, dining room, a living space, or head right upstairs to the bedrooms. This gives the foyer a feel of being in the center of the home, though it is just the entrance.
I absolutely love the simple use of three colors in this foyer, not to mention that gorgeous table.
I think this is a great foyer–very classic, very traditional. Not to mention the fantastic grand spiraling staircase and archway!
Clean, simple, lovely.
I absolutely love the floors in this foyer! What really caught my attention, though, was the use of the table vertically once you walk in through the doors. Very interesting!
Now this is a foyer that exudes elegance! The millwork on the walls is absolutely outstanding.
I love the use of bright red walls in this foyer, not to mention how perfectly the painting reflects back and fits in the mirror–now that’s detail!
This foyer is gorgeous! A transitional entry with very lovely and warm colors.
Now, I don’t want to be biased because this is my design, but I think this foyer is my favorite on here! Of course it helps that we were on the beautiful island of St. Maarten, and it was a great time utilizing the location in my design.
Are you thinking of re-doing your foyer? Or are you in the process of doing one for a client? Tell me all about it, and hopefully we can share inspiration!
