A friend recently asked me if I could recommend a grey color for her walls as she wanted to clean up her living room. I thought to myself, if I had a dollar for every person that asked me that question, I’d be a lucky lady. The answer does not automatically roll off my tongue because there are so many variables when it comes to grey. Hence the title of this post, “Simply Greige”.
Revere Pewter BM
When you combine the clean sophistication of grey with the earthy qualities of beige, you get greige. Some call it a warm grey~others a cool beige, in either case they’d be correct. Greige is the color of stonework and can be found naturally all around us. It is an elegant neutral that is very easy on the eyes. Greige works well in any room and works seamlessly with many other colors.
Char Brown BM
Greige can be used in many different depths of color as well. Take the room above, with the dark color of Char Brown by Benjamin Moore, the room is still warm and inviting. Making a very cozy living space. Wanting the color of grey but the warmth of beige, greige makes this sophisticated and yet casual. Add pops of color with art, flowers and a fun fabric and suddenly the room comes to life.
Greige with dark moldings
I love the dark moldings with the greige walls! Dark floors, light furnishings and rug~this room still is warm thanks to the wall color.
Classy and sophisticated
Greige isn’t just the happening color in interior design, it has been fashion forward forever. This classic look could take you anywhere! From work to dinner, it is warm and timeless.
The nail trend happens to be very hot today also. Try this greige nail color with a deep rich fall hue to make your nails pop!
Let’s not forget our man. Grey and beige equals griege. This has both, just not married. It stills looks sharp! Thanks to Cottage in the Oaks, she has made this great little chart of grieges. These are all beautiful colors and I can assure you, you can not go wrong with any of them.
