“I am the right brain.
I am creativity. A free spirit.
I am passion.
I am the sound of roaring laughter.
I am taste.
The feeling of sand beneath bare feet.
I am movement. Vivid colors.
I am the urge to paint
on an empty canvas.
I am boundless imagination.
Art. Poetry. I sense. I feel.
I am everything I wanted to be.”
Nancy Honchen has been in the interior decorating industry since 1996, though as a girl growing up in New Jersey she realized early on that she had a passion for design and decorating.
Unlike many children growing up with siblings, she would find herself wanting to share her room with her sister. It made sense after all–if they shared a room, they could easily team up in regular decorating and re-decorating of that room! Week after week they would save their allowances and while their friends were out shopping for new clothes, they were on the hunt for new bedding, artwork… anything to spruce up their room. Their collective love of interior design grew to the point where their mother would hand Nancy her credit card and send her out whenever the house needed, say… new patio furniture.
She may not be decorating her childhood home anymore, but Nancy is still doing what she loves–though now she gets to share her passion with those she works with and for. She has worked in both homes and businesses along the east coast, including New Jersey, New York and Manhattan, Connecticut, and Florida. Her work can also be found in the tropical sun of St. Maarten.
Nancy lives in a townhouse in northern New Jersey with her family. When she’s not working, Nancy can be found enjoying a glass of cabernet while the “babies” (Greyson and Chelsea, an Italian Greyhound and teacup Yorkie) sleep in front of the fireplace.
